Contact form emails are going to spam folder

I've been getting reports from visitors that my contact form submission emails are landing in their spam folders. This is really hurting my business as potential clients aren't seeing my replies.

My current setup:

  • Using the built-in SMTP settings
  • Connected to my Gmail account
  • SPF and DKIM records are set up

Has anyone dealt with this issue before? What mail service do you recommend for better deliverability?

I switched from Gmail SMTP to a transactional email service (Mailgun) and the spam issue was completely resolved. Highly recommended!

Also make sure your DMARC record is properly set up in addition to SPF and DKIM. That's often the missing piece.
